Life: January 27, 1928 - January 3, 2010

'Iolani tenure: 1954 - 1991
Mr. Hamada was a teacher, coach, and athletic director.
He began his faculty career at 'Iolani as a teacher in the Math department and later became a Physical Education teacher prior to becoming the Director of Athletics in 1963.
He spread the One Team ethos with kindness and love; expanded it to the whole school. He was sometimes referred to as Mr. 'Iolani or Mr. Aloha. One Team as it is today, with those feelings of love and kindness for each other, is the legacy of Mr. Hamada.

Greene interviewed long-time faculty who had retired, or were retiring at the end of that school year, on the topic of school history. She named her project the Retired Teacher Oral History Library.

Scrapbook, by Helen Noh Lee. Choir Director. Photos, letters, programs etc. Includes programs for concerts, letters, choir ratings, check stubs and bills. It also includes passenger list for Kauai trip from Aloha Airlines in 1966 as well as photos of students on this trip. There are letters and articles about fundraising efforts for travels to outer islands. Album also includes a small wooden surfboard from the Waikiki Rotary Club. Includes loose documents at the end of scrapbook.
